MEDIA ADVISORY - DO NOT RELEASE

House Speaker Hastert to Launch Neutrino Experiment at Fermilab, Friday,
March 4

BATAVIA, Ill.-Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert Jr., of the Illinois
14th Congressional District, will officially launch the MINOS neutrino
experiment during dedication ceremonies at the Department of Energy's
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory on Friday, March 4, 2005.

The dedication will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Wilson Hall's Ramsey
Auditorium.

All media wishing to cover the dedication must respond to the Fermilab
Office of Public Affairs by Noon on Wednesday, March 2 to arrange for
event access and security passes.

The MINOS experiment sends neutrinos from Fermilab through the earth to a
6,000-ton detector located a half-mile below the surface in a former iron
mine in Soudan, Minnesota. The neutrinos leave virtually no trace as they
make the 450-mile trip in 2.5 milliseconds.

Again, all media wishing to cover the MINOS experiment dedication must
respond to the Fermilab Office of Public Affairs by Noon on Wednesday,
March 2 to arrange for event access and security passes.

Fermilab is a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science national
laboratory, operated under contract by Universities Research Association,
Inc.
