Marburger; National Science Foundation Director Arden L. Bement; and Department of Energy Office of Science Director Raymond L. Orbach will all address a meeting of the DOE/NSF High Energy Physics Advisory Panel on Friday morning, March 3, at the Latham Hotel, 3000 M Street, Washington DC.
The March 3 HEPAP meeting is the Panel’s first under incoming Chair Melvyn J. Shochet, professor of physics at the University of Chicago, and with a new HEPAP membership.
“The revolutionary science just ahead in particle physics combined with President Bush’s recently announced initiative for the physical sciences make this an extremely exciting time for our field and a great opportunity and important responsibility for HEPAP.” Shochet said. “I am delighted to announce the distinguished guests who will inaugurate our opening session.”
