Q. You correctly point out that there has been a long history of international collaboration in high-energy physics and note the necessity of even closer ties in the future. Going forward, as well as welcoming physicists from around the world to CERN, does CERN have plans to contribute to experiments and accelerators in other regions as well?
A. This is a good question, and one that we're taking very seriously.I personally believe that CERN contributions to projects in other regions are in everyone's interest. Among the topics under discussion by the CERN Council working group is precisely how CERN might take part in future projects outside Europe, and I am looking forward to hearing the group's recommendations.
