International Linear Collider (ILC)- Global Design Effort
The International Linear Collider is a proposed new electron-positron collider. Together with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, it would allow physicists to explore energy regions beyond the reach of today's accelerators. At these energies, researchers anticipate significant discoveries that will lead to a radically new understanding of what the universe is made of and how it works.

Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN
This is CERN's core business. With the LHC the aim is to continue to push our understanding of the fundamental structure of the universe. The results from the LHC might shed light on: Dark energy, Dark matter, Extra dimensions, Higgs, Supersymmetry.

National Science Foundation (NSF)
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…"

Quantum Universe Report
"...Quantum Universe presents the quest to explain the universe in terms of quantum physics, which governs the behavior of the microscopic, subatomic world. It describes a revolution in particle physics and a quantum leap in our understanding of the mystery and beauty of the universe..."

Revealing the Hidden Nature of Space and Time: Charting the Course for Elementary Particle Physics
Report from the EPP2010 Committee
"...The U.S. program in particle physics is at a crossroads.  The continuing vitality of the program requires new, decisive, and forward-looking actions.  In addition, sustained leadership requires a willingness to take the risks that always accompany leadership on the scientific frontier..."

Rising Above The Gathering Storm: Energizing and Employing America for a Brighter Economic Future
National Academies Report
"The United States takes deserved pride in the vitality of its economy, which forms the foundation of our high quality of life, our national security, and our hope that our children and grandchildren will inherit ever-greater opportunities.  That vitality is derived in large part from the productivity of well-trained people and the steady stream of science and technical innovations they produce.  Without high-quality, knowledge-intensive jobs and the innovative enterprises that lead to discovery and new technology, our economy will suffer and our people will face a lower standard of living..."

symmetry magazine
Dimensions of Particle Physics
symmetry is a magazine about particle physics and its connections to other aspects of life and science, from interdisciplinary collaborations to policy to culture. It is published 10 times per year by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, both national laboratories funded by the Office of Science of the US Department of Energy.

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - Office of Science
The Office of Science is the single largest supporter of basic research in the physical sciences in the United States, providing more than 40 percent of total funding for this vital area of national importance. It oversees – and is the principal federal funding agency of – the Nation’s research programs in high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and fusion energy sciences.
